Introduction

This survey asked residents what they think about Council Servces, what think about living in Poole and what needs improving.

This survey is carried out by all Councils every 3 years with questions prescribed by the government so that performance can be compared.

BMG Research, an independent market research organisation, have been commissioned to manage the survey on behalf of the Council.

The results were presented to Councillors and Senior Managers on 15 March.

Background

The survey was delivered to 3,000 homes in Poole asked residents their opinions of services and facilities in the borough. 1300 residents (43.5%) replied.

Results

Overall Summary

63% of said they were either satisfied or very satisfied with the Council overall, which is an increase of 19% in the satisfaction rating since the survey was last carried out in 2003.  This result rated Poole Council the best out of all 46 unitary authorities in England and 6th overall in the country out of 149 local Councils.

Council Services

Many of the Council's services have seen an increase since the last survey in 2003, and many perform above the average for Unitary Authorities.
