The survey will target a random sample of customers who have made contact with Benefits Service between 1 June and 28 July which resulted in a decision being made about their housing benefit or council tax benefit claim.
The survey will ask questions about satisfaction with various aspects of the benefits service. It includes a number of performance indicators that will be compared with other Local Authorities, as all Councils carry out a similar survey every three years so that performance can be compared.
A further survey will be sent out from 1 November - 29 December.
The results will be available from the beginning of 2006, once the data is returned from the Department for Communities and Local Government.
