Introduction

The Town Centre North Area Action Plan covers the area surrounding the Dolphin Centre, including the Kingland Car Park, Bus Terminus, Bus Depot, the former NCP Car Park, Kingland Road and the Sainsbury's supermarket / Pitwines Close area.

The document sets out the Council's preferred option for the area. The Area Action Plan sets out a framework to improve the 'retail offer' in Poole Town Centre, its vitality; access and movement and the quality of the area.

Background

Respondents were asked to give comments on the Preferred Option as well as its various sub-options.

The consultation included a 'walkabout tour'in November and an exhibition at the Dolphin Shopping Centre from 6th - 12th November. Views were also given on-line.

Results

77 people and organisations responded to the consultation, with 427 various comments and observations on the Preferred Options. 150 representations of support were made to various parts of the Preferred Options Document. 133 objections were received as well as 135 'observations' and 9 'other' comments.

A full summary of all 427 representations received is available.

An assessment of these responses will be made and the Area Action Plan will be amended, where possible, to take account of your representation. The Area Action Plan will be submitted to the Secretary of State in Autumn 2007 (estimated). Your representation will not be submitted to the Secretary of State, but if you feel your representation has not been taken into account, you can make a further representation to the Submission Document in the Autumn.
