Local Development Framework - Core Strategy Submission Document

Past  This is a past consultation

28 May 08- 8 Jul 08

Introduction

The Core Strategy sets out the spatial vision, objectives, development strategy and a series of over-arching strategic policies that will guide the scale, location and type of development in the Borough until 2026, and sets out the context for the other Development Plan Documents. These will provide a comprehensive set of policies which will provide the basis for determining detailed issues when dealing with planning applications.

Poole's Core Strategy Submission Document is the result of various consultation stages and engagement with the public. Comments received by the Council during these consultations have been taken into account and incoporated into the submission document. The Core Strategy and supporting documents have been submitted to the Secretary of State on the 27th May 2008. There will be a 6 week period of public consultation where individuals and organisations can make representations to the Core Strategy and Sustainability Appraisal. It is likely that representations will be received that will lead to an independent examination by a Planning Inspector who will consider the soundness of the development plan document in light of representations made. It is anticipated that an examination is likely to be towards the end of 2008.

The Consultation will run for a six week period from the 28th May 2008 to 8th July 2008 inclusive.
