Cllr Brian Leverett,
Leader of the Council, said: “The results show that residents think all of the Council’s services are important. We have to deliver excellent services but need to work within financial constraints. This year the council tax rise has kept as low as possible and most importantly we have avoided cuts in essential services, maintaining our continued commitment to improvements and providing value for money.”
In this year’s budget an extra £1.7 million has been provided for social services – one of the main areas you highlighted as important, as well as an extra £342,000 for recycling, another of your priorities.
What you consider important is also reflected in our priorities:
- Supporting Young People - giving them the best possible start in life
- Vibrant Economy – balanced, strong and sustainable
- Clean, Green & Safe – making a difference to our environment
- Strong Sense of Community – encouraging togetherness and shared action
- Health & Well-being – helping people to keep fit and active
More about the budget breakdown and actions the Council is taking to deliver these priorities was included in the Spring 2004 edition of Poole News and on the council budget pages.
